The University of Cagliari in Sardinia, Italy will be using the Ethereum Blockchain technology to ensure that its graduates are authentic. They will start the Ethereum system to its Computer Science graduates and will extend its use to all its graduates. In the future, all graduates of the university will have certified digital signatures using the Ethereum platform which cannot be tampered. Thus fake diplomas will be avoided.

This is a good idea to prevent degree counterfeiting in the future, and they say faking a degree certificate when applying for a job is still a common problem today. Using the Ethereum blockchain will make sure of the authenticity of degree certificates- also MIT has already used this system of registering diplomas on a blockchain as well.
